My latest book—Chasing After Wind: A Pastor’s life—will be out in a few weeks. Wind is a memoir of my 40 years as a Presbyterian pastor, and it’s my fifth book with Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co.

I worked there for a summer during my college years, and I played on the company softball team. In spite of that, they keep publishing my books.

I’m a pastor, as I mentioned, and I served churches in Illinois, Michigan, Florida, and (most recently) Zürich, Switzerland. My undergraduate work was in philosophy at Calvin University (formerly Calvin College) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I received my master’s and doctoral degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey.

My older daughter is a Presbyterian pastor, and my younger daughter is a health economist. Both of them are married, have children of their own, and (remarkably enough) live in the same neighborhood in Minneapolis.
