I’ve got a new book coming out this year!
Can’t say more than that right now, but this seemed like a great time to try something new with my blog. So, after eight years, I’m moving from my old WordPress platform to something called Substack. You don’t have have to do anything, since you’re already a subscriber. But if you’re new to my writing, I hope you’ll become a subscriber. It’s free.
By the way, my name is Doug. I’ve been a writer since fifth grade when I won second prize in a “prose and poetry” competition and read my entry at an all-school assembly. I’m also a pastor, and for more than 40 years I have served churches in Illinois, Michigan, Florida, and (most recently) Switzerland. My undergraduate work was in philosophy at Calvin University (formerly Calvin College) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My master’s and doctoral degrees are from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey.
I am a husband, father, and grandfather. My older daughter is a Presbyterian pastor, and my younger daughter is a health economist. Both of them are married, have children of their own, and live in the same neighborhood in Minneapolis.
If you’d like to contact me, please write me at email@example.com. If you’d like to read more of my Holland Sentinel columns on the Sentinel website, visit https://www.hollandsentinel.com/search?text=Douglas%20Brouwer&start=1.
