Here’s an essay I wrote that appeared today in the Reformed Journal. It’s a reflection, a wistful looking back, on Easter, now that I’m (officially) retired and no longer responsible for putting on a show.
The theme I should have preached is that hardly anyone gets it right away. Like the disciples, most of us are a little slow. I was definitely on the slower side. Faith takes a while, sometimes a very long time, which doesn’t make for a rousing Easter sermon, the kind I thought I was expected to preach. Read more…
Doug, thanks for the reminder about First Pres in Fort Lauderdale. I miss the church and the Bible Classes we had. When you are in Holland this summer I would love to get together for tea or lunch. Bob V.
